Laclair Recipient of Multiple Awards - Spotlighted 9.13.19

Bronson Community Schools will be spotlighting one of their own on Friday, September 13, 2019 during halftime of the home football game.
In 2019, Athletic Director Jean Laclair will have been honored with three prominent awards – the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Alan Bush Award, Saginaw Valley State University’s College of Education Distinguished Alumni Award, and the Michigan High School Coaches Association 2019 Coach of the Year Award.
“I feel fortunate that I have been able to work with Jean. She demands excellence and backs it up by working harder than most, even in the face of obstacles. Congratulations to her on these accomplishments,” said Bronson Superintendent Rick Hilderley.
“The Bush Award was created to recognize the frequent behind-the-scenes efforts that go into creating worthwhile experiences for Michigan high school athletes,” commented MHSAA Executive Director Mark Uyl.
The SVSU Distinguished Alumni Award is “the most prestigious award presented by the SVSU Alumni Association,” according to the SVSU website. “The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented to a graduate of SVSU in recognition of distinguished service and accomplishment in any field of human endeavor that enhances the prestige of the university.”
Finally, the MHSCA Coach of the Year honor is designated to a coach based upon a team’s performance, performance of a team over years and/or contribution to sport, school, sport association and community.
The Viking football team will be facing off against Springport on Friday evening with kickoff at 7 pm.
