RYAN ELEMENTARY

MARCH STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

3rd Grade: Melyssa Luna
I would like to nominate Melyssa Luna. Melyssa is always trying to do her best. She sets an example for other students with her excitement about learning. She also helps others by being brave and asking questions when others might not. Melyssa has a quick smile and a kind word for everyone. She is a student I know I can count on to make good choices that help our room. Melyssa is just wonderful! I'm so happy to be her teacher.

Nominated by: Ms. Miner

4th Grade: Blake Rock
I nominate Blake Rock. Blake is constantly being proactive. He works hard and does the right thing even when no one is looking. Blake is always willing to help his classmates and teachers without hesitation. He gets along with and works well with all his classmates, regardless of the activity. Blake is a great student, classmate, and leader in the classroom and the school.

Nominated by: Mr. Kehoe

5th Grade: Gia Barone

It is with great pleasure that I nominate Miss Gia Barone as the 5th-grade recipient of “Student of the Month”.
As a true bright spot in our classroom family, Gia has a genuine warmth that sets the tone for everyone around her. She consistently leads with a generous spirit and welcoming smile that I truly look forward to seeing every morning. She is a supportive presence whose kindness and empathy help to make our classroom feel like a safe space to learn, make mistakes, and grow without the fear of judgment.
An example of Gia’s spirit would be when she recently taught classmates the basics of crocheting. After numerous classmates were intrigued by her crochet work, she generously gave up her “free choice” time and ability to work on her own projects to guide them through the basic skills and techniques of the craft. It became evident that she possesses a rare and steady patience when I observed her calmly talking peers back through the basics, even when they had become frustrated with learning this difficult new skill. Her ability to provide them with positive encouragement and prioritize their need to feel successful over her own progress was a fantastic display of friendship and leadership.
Academically, Gia has grown this year because of her “never give up” attitude even when things might be difficult. She consistently holds herself accountable even when she could use excuses to avoid difficult tasks. The grit and perseverance she has shown this year is evidence that hard work and determination really do pay off. These traits are shaping her into an incredibly strong young lady. Whether in the classroom or on the playground, she leads by example and serves as a positive role model not only in our classroom, but Ryan Elementary as well.
For these reasons, I am proud to nominate Gia Barone for 5th Grade Student of the Month. Her academic grit, selfless leadership, and genuine kindness make her a leader that not only Ryan Elementary can be proud of, but the Bronson Community as well. I am confident that Gia will accomplish great things in the years to come.
