This afternoon, a tornado warning was issued for our area just as our buses were finishing their routes. We immediately reached out to our drivers and stayed in close communication with them as the weather developed.

Our drivers were fully prepared to stop and take appropriate measures if needed, including taking cover and moving students to the safest available location along their routes. Thankfully, conditions did not require that action, and all students arrived home safely.

We are so grateful for our drivers for their preparedness and attention to safety during these situations.

In continued recognition of National School Social Worker Week, we also celebrate Jana Alexander (Branch ISD Social Worker) and Shannan Lester (Insight Coldwater Social Worker). Both play an important role in caring for our students, and we are truly grateful for the collaboration we have between both Branch ISD & Insight Coldwater Hospital.

Thank you, Jana and Shannan, for the impact you make!

This morning, bus 19B experienced a mechanical issue and began emitting black smoke. The driver safely stopped and, out of an abundance of caution, students were immediately transferred to another bus and transported to school without further issue.

Please know that student safety is always our top priority, and at no time during this situation were students in danger.

The bus has been taken out of service for inspection, and a replacement bus is being used this afternoon. We appreciate our transportation team’s quick response and commitment to keeping students safe.

Shining Stars: Celebrating Our February Students of the Month

3rd Grade: Avery Allen
I want to nominate Avery Allen for Student of the Month. Avery consistently demonstrates respect and responsibility in all areas of the school day. She puts forth her best effort in everything she does and is always eager to learn and grow.
Avery actively participates in academic conversations and is not afraid to ask for help when she needs it. She is also incredibly kind and helpful to others, always willing to lend a hand or support a friend. Avery’s positive attitude and dedication make her a wonderful role model for her peers.

Nominated by: Mrs. Lutz

4th Grade: Uriah Milliman
My student of the month is Uriah Milliman. Uriah is one of the hardest-working, caring, and respectful students I have had. He is always determined to do better at everything he is given and works hard to be the best, no matter the challenge. He is a great classmate, always helping others and doing his part to make our classroom a better place. Uriah is respectful and always polite. He is the perfect representation of a great student.

Nominated by: Miss Skirka

5th Grade: Emily Luna
Emily Luna is our student of the month. Emily works hard and always gives her best effort. In groups, she is respectful and kind. Emily goes above and beyond my expectations every day.

Cooking with Kids — What a Night!

Last Thursday’s Cooking with Kids event was a hit!

A huge thank-you to our food service team — Barb Yearling, Marie Sias, Vanessa Duran, and Chef John — for helping make the evening such a success.

Thanks also to Nisha Ritchie (Nutrition Educator, Fuel for Life) for leading a fantastic hands-on nutrition station.

And a special shoutout to Tia Weaver and Amairany Albarran for all the behind-the-scenes setup, including the photo booth.

Thanks to everyone who joined us — we can’t wait for the next one!

Keeping our students safe is a team effort!

On Tuesday, February 17th, you'll likely see several law enforcement vehicles parked at Bronson Jr/Sr High School. There is no emergency. Our Safety and Security Liaison, Mr. Ferry, is part of a School Safety Collaborative, and we are hosting this month's meeting. This is a scheduled session where various local law enforcement agencies gather to coordinate, train, and strengthen our safety protocols.

We're grateful for these partnerships that help keep our schools safe!
